Nominate your favorite “Organizer of the Year!”

It's been a big year in changemaking. Who do you think deserves a little recognition for their organizing work? Note: this recognition also comes with a prize of paid registration and travel stipend for the 2012 Netroots Nation conference in Providence, RI. Nominate your favorite "Organizer of the Year" today! #ooty

Nominate your favorite “Organizer of the Year!”

From the Occupy Wall Street protests that spread all over the world, to the largest act of civil disobedience by environmentalists in decades, and from the thousands of Wisconsinites who rejected Scott Walker’s anti-worker agenda, to the thousands of volunteers who made sure the anti-labor initiative in Ohio was repealed, and everyone in between, we know there are hundreds of organizers out there who deserve to be recognized.

Nominate your favorite organizer today! It’s easy …

  1. Post your nomination to either the grassroots solutions or EchoDitto wall.
  2. Include the organizer’s name and the name of the campaign or organization.
  3. Share all the compelling reasons why your favorite organizer deserves to win.

Nominations are now open, so take a minute to reflect and share your inspiration with our community. This year, we’re pleased to announce that we’re co-sponsoring the “Organizer of the Year” contest with our good friends and partners at EchoDitto. And, to top it off, this year's lucky winner will receive a special prize…registration to the 2012 Netroots Nation conference in Providence, Rhode Island, plus a travel stipend of $500!

Nominations close on December 22, so post your nomination now! The three organizers with the most nominations will be put to a vote on Facebook January 3-10, and the winner will be announced on January 11.

Nominations for "Organizer of the Year" can also be emailed to nominations@organizeroftheyear.org.

Fine print: To qualify for nomination, organizers must have worked with an organization, campaign, or community-building initiative on a paid or volunteer basis between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. The winner must agree to share their organizing story and image(s) with grassroots solutions and EchoDitto for promotional purposes, including print and online communications.
