In an age where the half life of information is shrinking daily and where news is produced more to entertain than to inform, how are we preparing young people for informed, engaged and sustained citizenship? What does citizenship look like in a world where communities can no longer be defined strictly by geographic borders? What knowledge and skills are required for citizenship in an era dominated by sound bites, social media and issues that cross borders? How do various sectors – education, business, government—support developing engaged citizens in this context? What approaches are promising? Where are current approaches falling short?

The Forum will initiate a conversation across a range of stakeholders working towards the common goal of building responsible, informed, and engaged citizens in the 21^st century.
