Most of us are happy to never revisit our teenage years again, thankful to have simply made it past that awkward and challenging time of adolescence. But what are the kids up to these days, and how does that foreshadow what issues our communities and state will face in the years to come? The Minnesota Public Health Association is exploring "The Teenage Experience" in their 2012-2013 policy series, and the first forum in this new year centers on Teens and Sexuality - What's new beyond the birds and the bees? Our 2012-2013 policy forum series, "The Teenage Experience," explores topics related to growing up teen in today's world. At this second forum for the year panelists and participants will focus their discussion on teenage sexuality. Topics will include encouraging healthy social relationships, the role of social media as a contact point, the controversies surrounding the HPV vaccine, and the rise of sexually transmitted diseases among teens.
