Accepting Applications: Mentoring Tomorrow’s LEADers

The LEAD Project works to actively develop young professionals in the Twin Cities and better equip them to serve on boards of local nonprofits now and in the future. They've just announced the launch of their exciting new mentorship program, which features several prominent and highly successful professionals who serve in high-profile positions on local and national nonprofit boards. You’re invited to apply for a mentorship program unlike any other.

The LEAD Project is excited to announce the launch of our new nonprofit mentorship program. This program is an extension of LEAD’s ongoing educational efforts to develop future nonprofit leaders. The first of its kind,

this two year program will offer young leaders the opportunity to be partnered with today’s nonprofit leaders as their mentors. We are looking for up-and-coming volunteers who are dedicated to serving in nonprofit leadership roles to be mentees in this new program. Mentees will receive guidance to help become more effective nonprofit and community leaders, and will be held accountable to goals they establish with their mentors at the onset of the program.

Chosen mentees will be paired with community leaders including Tom Heffelfinger, former two-time presidentially appointed United States Attorney for Minnesota and current Board Member for the Red Cross, Roy Smalley, former Minnesota Twin and current President of Pitch in for Baseball, Ed Padilla, CEO of Northmarq and President of the Corner House, along with many other outstanding nonprofit leaders. This initial launch of the program will incorporate a class of 20 mentees and 20 mentors who will be paired in one-to-one partnerships.

To demonstrate your commitment to our nonprofit community, mentee applicants will have to prove that they have been actively involved in the nonprofit community for at least two years and provide a minimum of two letters of recommendation to be considered for the program.  Prospective mentees will also have to agree and adhere to the policies and regulations of the program as established by The LEAD Project.
