"Don't Worry; We've Got This" - A Gathering of Rising Leaders
We are convening a gathering of Rising Leaders for a number of reasons: 1. We want you guys to meet each other!Especially in rural areas, the sense of isolation can be great for those of us trying to imagine a better community, and we want to combat that. 2. We want to support your growth! Part of our discussion will focus on what promising leaders need to succeed so that CURE knows what resources we can provide to help you on your path to success. 3. We want to have fun! We've asked people we think are pretty darn cool to give short and engaging presentations; World Cafe conversations make it easier to talk to strangers as if they were old friends; and we're finishing off the night with a social hour and open mic, so you can bring your musical, poetic, comedic, dramatic, or other talents with you to share! Dancing with fear as we launch our first Krypton course!
Today was an epic day for the Colidr crew. We launched our first official endeavor, which is the delivery of a 5-week Krypton Course based on the work of best selling author Seth Godin. This particular course is entitled "Go: How to Overcome Fear, Pick Yourself, & Start a Project that Matters." We are fortunate that Travis Wilson, who recently started Wilson Career Coaching in Rochester, agreed to facilitate the course for us. It is evident after our first gathering that he was exactly the right person for the job! One important aspect of our vision for Colidr centers around creating spaces where the growing community of changemakers in Rochester can connect, inspire one another, co-learn, and co-create. Help a Minnesota Maker Succeed!
HAMMSHAMMS Event is a one-day, dog friendly, crowdfunding market for men and women. HAMMS Event was born out of the "shop local" and "shop small business" movement and around the fact that small businesses need to stick together. The HAMMS Event takes place at the former Hamm's brewery shipping docks. Shop 25,000 square feet of products for men, women, and their pooches. Meet the Minnesota Makers themselves, nibble on food from both vendors and food trucks, sip vino and samples of local brew. Funding is difficult for micro businesses, so we have put a spin on the "crowd funding" concept by choosing one talented Minnesota Maker (by a game of chance) to receive up to $5000 of ticket sales to help them bring their business to the next level. When we all stick together we can make a difference. [Read more.]

Consulting 4 Good
Social Innovation Lab
Are you a consultant interested in doing pro bono or reduced rate consulting with nonprofits, to broaden your network and make a difference? Or are you a nonprofit that wants volunteers or reduced rate help from consultants to get stuff done and make it stick? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, we invite you to this event designed to help you make a match. What's our vision? We want to create a speed networking/match-making event to bring together consultants and nonprofits so that: Every nonprofit in the Twin Cities has access to the professional skills they need to effectively carry out their mission, and every interested consultant who wants to learn, connect, and give through pro bono and reduced rate consulting has the opportunity to work on a project that is a good fit for what they want to give.
