2017-2018 Windcall Residency Program
"Sabbaticals for organizers on the frontlines of change" If you're an organizer, you know it takes courage, commitment and risk. We honor you and invite you apply to the Windcall Residency Program to boost your creativity, health and resilience to make systemic change. Windcall is for community and labor organizers working in communities of color and low-income communities. Windcall Residencies are free, three weeks long, and take place in nature rich locations. At Windcall there is no schedule, no demands. At Windcall, you'll be in a cohort with other organizers - mostly people of color and women - with time, space, and suggested practices to allow new ideas and ways of being to arise, reflect on and release the effects of oppression, and transform your sense of purpose. Accepting Applications: RISE Fellowships
We're excited to announce that New Sector is now accepting applications for the 2017-18 RISE Fellowship with a priority deadline of April 17th! We are looking for candidates that are highly-motivated, skilled, early career professionals who are passionate about social impact. If you are or know students or alumni that meet that description, we hope you'll encourage them to apply! The RISE Fellowship is an 11-month professional development program designed for emerging leaders with up to 5 years of professional work experience. New Sector matches Fellows into full-time employment at one of our social impact partner host-sites, while also providing monthly professional development trainings, mentorship, and individual career coaching to support their long-term careers in the social sector. We are ready for a new kind of public servant and now is the time for you to jump in! In Part 1 of “Run As You Are”, we will learn from 3 women with non-traditional backgrounds who ran and won. You’ll leave knowing how your work experience, background, and life’s journey make you the right candidate for right now! We will run through a self-assessment so you can better understand the transferable skills you already possess and how to market them in this new political environment. 2017 Nonprofit Leadership Awards
Do you know someone who is an incredible leader that deserves some recognition? Nominate them for a Nonprofit Leadership Award by April 20! In 2017, YNPN Twin Cities and the Center for Integrative Leadership (CIL) at the University of Minnesota will join MCN in recognizing nonprofit leaders with three distinct awards: Catalytic Leader (emerging leader), Visionary Leader (mid-career leader), and Transformational Leader (experienced leader).
