[Minnesota Rising Dispatch] March 2022

[#mnrising Dispatch] March 2022

This month's Vernal Equinox, springing forward with Daylight Saving Time, and vacillating between shorts weather and spring snowstorms are reminders that we are in a season of emergence, in a liminal zone that is both familiar and novel. March is also International Women's Month and a time to honor the feminine within ourselves and the world. Locally, the Citizens League Civic Celebration last week honored the late Kao Ly Ilean Her and Joan Growe, former Secretary of State who introduced the iconic red "I Voted" stickers to Minnesota. On the national level, we lost the first female United States Secretary of State with the passing of Madeleine Albright. May her memory be for a blessing and her wise words guide us in this time when a new earth is springing forth:

“The real question is: who has the responsibility to uphold human rights? The answer to that is: everyone.”

“It took me quite a long time to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I am not going to be silent.”
